IN THIS LESSON - Defining Resilience

Defining Resilience

Resilience is the capacity to adapt, recover, and grow in the face of life’s challenges. It is not about avoiding stress or hardship, but about navigating through them with strength and purpose. While we cannot control everything that happens to us—whether it’s a minor inconvenience or a life-altering event—we can choose how we think, feel, and act in response. Resilience involves using our strengths, focusing on what we can influence, and viewing setbacks as opportunities for growth. Just as a skilled captain learns to sail through rough weather, we can learn to steer our lives with intention, drawing on the tools and values that keep us moving toward our ideal future.
